SYNOPSIS
The fierce Antarctic winter is just setting in when an intrepid team of explorers and scientists on a research mission -- survival guide Jerry Shepard (Paul Walker), his best friend and cartographer Cooper (Jason Biggs) and the rugged geologist Davis (Bruce Greenwood) -- just narrowly escape a fatal accident, thanks to their steadfast team of eight skilled sled dogs.
Forced to evacuate, the men must leave the beloved dogs behind in the frozen wilds -- with a promise they will return. But when the storm of the century approaches, cutting off all means of travel, the dogs are stranded. Now, as the intelligent, courageous dogs -- including noble pack leader Maya, rambunctious rebel Shorty and rising young alpha-in-training Max -- fight to make it through the most unforgiving winter on the planet, the heartbroken Jerry is driven to mount a seemingly impossible rescue mission, aided by a beautiful and adventurous bush pilot, Katie (Moon Bloodgood).
Held together only by unwavering bonds of friendship, the humans and the dogs alike make a remarkable journey of grit, endurance and belief to find one another again in this spectacular but perilous land.

Went Bugis with the OITP buddies last week for dinner at the "Ma la" steamboat... didnt know where it was at first but after calling Jians we manage to find it. hahaz... cos some of them went West Coast CC to help out, we(Marilyn, Sylvia, Peiboon, Weiling, Dayne, Ah wee) reached earlier. Mar n Syl sat different table from us cos the rest of us are non-beef eater. haha... ah wee cannot eat n i dont really like eating. the steamboat is called the "yuan yang" steamboat where you can actually choose 2 soup base la. cos me n weiling dont eat spicy stuff, we had the chicken soup while the other 3 have the medium "ma la". haha... i tested that too, was quite spicy la. luckily!

today the Year1 optometry student have their oreintation. we are asked to go for the refreshment too then we take them on a tour around the Optometry Centre. Boon and I took a group of them around the 2 levels of SPOC then we stopped at review room to talk to them... we made them do a self-intro to get them to know each other better. after a while Dayne's group came to join them... another round of intro. haha... weijian's group went of early otherwise we can have all of them together. seems that this year the intake is quite high(60 students)! wow... Optometrist will be v saturated by the time i finish NS. anyway we got to know some of them and seems that there are quite a few from the same school, arent they lucky? it's good to know someone before school start, at least there's someone you can talk to on first day of school. haha...
spent the past few days in dispensing lab clearing the lenses and frames. wa, didnt know got so many lenses and frames!!! think the frames and lenses can fill up my whole room lor, so scary...
